Pegasus Soviet Mortars

Pegasus has released a bunch of WWII Soviet Union soldier sets in 1/72nd scale all at once.

This mortar set provides plenty of heavy firepower for your Communist hordes.

Each set gets two sprues just like this one.

Four 120mm mortars and two 81mm mortars.

The crews have separate arms and some can be used for either mortar, depending on which arm you select.

There are crewmen like the one on the left, actually servicing the mortars and others like the other two, who are doing other work.

The kneeling man has separate feet!

Thank you very much for posting these! I see some conversion possibilities, and a Winter Soviet Gun crew would be very easy to make out of these comrades.

Now that's good news. I have used some of the Zvezda Howitzer and Zis 2/3 crew as well as the Revell and Italeri gunners as substitutes too. The model dragging the ammo box rings a bell somewhere, Nice to have a few new poses and a range of mortars available.

The glueable plastic really lends itself to conversion work too.

The mortars are great and the large crews are a good addition too. Thanks for reading Herman.

Thanks for the welcome Mike. I have never used the Pegasus range before - a bit hard to come by in New Zealand, and have just about given up on converting in 1/72 due to the properties of the Italeri/Revell/Airfix plastic, even though I have come across an an acyanoacrylate glue specifically made for PVC plastics. It works well on cementing them to the MDF bases I routinely use, but I have had all my days trying to get the Revell Siberian Ski Troops to adhere to their skis!

Plastic Soldier Company is more obtainable here, but comes at a cost, and I often have to import them from the UK, and postage has become astronomical.

Brookhurst Hobbies in Garden Grove, CA carries Pegasus and ships international. I often suggest people ask them to be shipped without boxes to cut down the weight.
http://www.alwaysmodel.com/en/contactus_en.htm is in Taiwan and they are a good company too. Get on their mailing list, they offer a lot of new item specials.
