Pegasus Winter Russians, Set 2

Pegasus Winter Russians Set 2 in 1/72nd scale plastic are great figures.

Their color, size, and style mix well will all their other Russian sets.  Two prone light machine gunners poses, very nice.

I like the officer figure, advancing with an SMG.

Standing riflemen in two different poses too.

Some figures have separate arms or heads to make the poses better.  The figures are flash free, and take regular model glue very well.

From what I see, I'm guessing that this is a mix of their original Russian winter infantry set, and their new Russians in trench coat set, with a sprue of each?

Thanks for uploading these nice photos, I can finally see what they look like without spending an hour scouring the web!

Your guess is wrong. These are all new figures. Some of the poses are similar, but every one is new. The first set has nearly identical figures, but in the first set they are one piece and the second set many are two piece for greater detail. Wargamers who want a zillion Russian Infantry may not want to put them all together.

True about putting them toghether. And I congradulate pegasus for not cheaping out and just giving the old ones and a few new ones!

One last question: Are the trenchcoated ones the same as the ones from the other pegasus russian trench-coat set, or are they new sculpts too?

Thanks!

Hi FF, all the new sets are new. Pegasus sometimes makes new figures that are so close to the old figures you have to hold them in your hand side by side to tell they are new. But a close inspection will show a different hat or helmet, a different knife or gear bag. I suspect they are made from the same masters that have been modified. But then, they are all mid to late war Soviet troops, so they all wear the same uniform, same gear, and carry the same weapons, they are bound to look similar.
