Moving Forward

The British troops have just arrived.
They are setting up roadblocks.
And consolidating their position.
Waiting for the anti-tank guns, and the rest of the battalion to catch up.
Meanwhile, Germans including a flamethrower are moving forward.

House to House

Two heavy German tank destroyers assault the city with infantry in close support.
They are a counter-attack trying to stop a British penetration of the line.
They move from house to house.
Grenades and submachine guns are the weapons of choice.

Watching for movement across the street.

Clock Tower

A British soldier stares down a Jagdpanther.
Infantry from two different units move forward in support of the anti-tank gun.
Two more men fight room to room.
A bazooka fired from the rubble can take out a room across the street.

More Germans plod forward, British troops under the clock tower.

Push Forward

The German troops are a mixed bag from four different units.
Some are old campaigners.
Others are new to front line combat.
All are pushing cautiously forward.
Hoping the massive Jagdpanthers will help dislodge the British.

Counter Attack Begins

Moving inland from Normandy...
The British infantry have pushed out the few German defenders from the town.
As they move forward and check for hold outs....
The Germans begin a counter attack.
Re-enforced with heavy tank destroyers.

Normandy Town

Welcome to Bunker Talk blog.  Today is the 5,000th post.  I hope you enjoy.

A quick set up of British troops entering a village in Normandy.

Germans are preparing a counter attack.
I have a small wire table on my gravel porch area.
So I threw down a few pieces of wood and grabbed some buildings.
And set up a little town.

Photo Tips

When taking photos of miniatures, have plenty of light.
Get down low and up close to the subject.  If you do a lot of photos of miniatures, get a real camera with a macro lens.  Your tablet or phone camera won't do good close up work and won't allow large blow ups of the photos.
Try for interesting angles, not everything has to be an up close portrait.  Don't be afraid to go outside.
Here the photo is balanced by having two subjects in different corners connected by a road.
Use the focus to help show depth.  Not every photo has to focus on the nearest object.
Put figures in the photo but make sure you can see all you want to show.

Mars Men

Trees cleared for a clear field of fire.
Check out the long range observation.
Some of the ruins are pretty rugged.

Boley Jagdpanther

The HO scale Boley Jagdpanther.
With 1/72nd scale troops by Mars.
Jagdpanther is ready right out of the box.
It's a good kit.
And cheap.
The terrain is a long discontinued version of Monte Cassino but I think it works for many places.

High in the Rubble

Good spot on the hill.
As long as the enemy does not have ground attack aircraft.
Can't back away from this position.
But certainly good place to start a counter attack.
After a quick ambush of the enemy attack.
Long range firepower benefits from a raised platform.
