 Hello all,

My computer went down and I was mostly off line for the last two months.  Fortunately I do blog ahead and so Bunker Talk continued for about 1/2 of that time.  I should be back fully in business next week, and thanks to all those who have been checking in.

I have taken about 1,400 photos in the last month all of which have to be edited and posted.  My intention is to go back to July 23 and begin where I left off.  So read the "old" new postings to catch up to today and I likely will post more than once per day, so try not to miss anything.

Fidelis Models owned by a good friend of mine has several new exciting items in the pipeline that should be out very soon, so look forward to those HO scale and 1/72nd scale items that I will announce shortly.

More News Updates

Some of my computer stuff is still stored in the storage sheds.  The movers were supposed to hold 10 boxes out so we could get on with our lives once we arrived and instead they packed them into the shed, so they are buried in the back.  Our hope is that we can retrieve them tomorrow.

We have two movers coming who will remove stuff from the sheds and repack it for us.  We don't have much in the motel room, but when we move into the apartment this weekend we should have a lot more.  That still won't be anywhere near all our stuff, but at least I should be able to get the rest of my computer.  I am typing this on my wife's laptop, but I can't upload photos from my camera, phone, or desktop right now.

My hope is that in less than a week I should be up and running at full speed with full Internet access and a fully functioning computer.  Thank  you all for continuing to read Bunker Talk and be sure to let all your friends now that I Have Returned.

I write three of them and I post to all three every day and have for over five years.

 

Hysterical Right Wing is about politics, social commentary, and current events.

 

SGT Says is about public and private law enforcement.

 

Bunker Talk is about miniature wargames, toy soldiers and military history.  On Bunker Talk I usually include five photos of my collection, in five years that's 10,000 photos of toy soldiers, tanks and such.

 

I write these blogs as a way to give back some of the information I have been able to gather in my 57 years as a person and to try to inform folks about ways to stay alive, give back to their community and to worship God, and to have fun.  Unless you have tens of thousands of readers per day, you can't make a living at it.

 

Visitors can also make comments about each blog entry.  Some comments are moderated to keep out the wackos but I try to read every one and respond to every comment.  I ask that comments be kept shorter than the blog entry.  Thanks for reading, tell all your friends, I am still hoping for tens of thousands of readers, that's the talk around the bunker.

TV News

We use TV news in modern games as a way for the moderator to update the
other players. The players in a recent game were the "Government" and the
"Rebels" in a Third World nation. The scenario was that Western nations might
intervene but were unsure which side to take in the conflict. So the moderator
did a TV news broadcast each turn as an update.

Turn One

"Sources close to the President say there is no truth to the rumor an
aircraft carrier battle group is heading towards the coast to protect American
interests."

Turn Two

"Pentagon sources say the deployment of an aircraft carrier to protect
American interests will not result in combat missions but is only designed to
standby in the event that American citizens need to be evacuated.

Turn Three

"Here in the capital we can tell you American naval aircraft have been
overflying the capital for the last several hours on recon missions."

Turn Four

"From the deck of the USS America we are watching as strike missions are
being prepared to hit targets just outside the capital if the President declares
American interests are at stake."

Turn Five

"Here in the presidential palace we have heard rumors that American
helicopters are landing troops in the sports arena."

It provides players with information, that may be incomplete, even false, and yet, can't be ignored.
