Soviet Anti-Aircraft Artillery
World War Two Soviet Union 37mm anti-aircraft guns.
Made by Zvezda in 1/72nd scale.
The barrels are very long and thin.
The model is flash free and goes together pretty well.
I built a couple of them and then mass built them. Now they are being primer painted.

Three Rocks
The story of the Three Rocks continues as the city again sees troops marching off to war.
This time they go to a far off desert place.
A strange and distant land, with more sand than rocks.
Once again the three rocks see men go to war.
Who will return, and will the be victorious?

Arctic Exploration
A nice Matchbox arctic vehicle.
I like these kinds of vehicles.
It works well as a civilian research vehicle, NGO vehicle, or military.
It comes in white and I will add it to my small cadre of Arctic exploration vehicles.
Much of the USA and Europe is covered in snow, even in summer so this can be used in a lot of places.
It fits in nicely with these Zvezda Cold War gone Hot troops.
These are US Army but I could see other forces using this vehicle.

Machine Gun Ops
Modern US Army troops from Zvezda.
Using a Hot Wheels dune buggy for heavy machine gun fire support.
High mobility, great speed, makes up for it's open top and limited armor.
The vehicle has good ground clearance.
The troops join in with their Ma Deuce and M60 machine guns.

Anti-Aircraft Tactics
I have set up these guns in a four gun battery.
Anti-aircraft guns often set up in a square or diamond formation.
This allows all four guns to bear on a target from any direction.
They can put the fire direction equipment in the center of the guns.
That way wire runs don't have to be long for communications to the gun directors.
When the enemy is expected from a specific direction, such as along the coast...
Guns can be set up in a long row.
This formation allows guns to cover a longer area of coastline than a square.
And it's easier to fire at multiple targets using different guns.

German Bofors Gun
This is the 1/72nd scale Zvezda Bofors 40mm anti-aircraft gun.
The kit is sold as a British weapon and comes with a British Army crew.
I have replaced them with a four man German Army crew.
In my set of wargame rules guns must have a crew at least as large as the gun caliber in centimeters.
So a four centimeter gun gets a four man crew.
The crew if from the Caesar Miniatures German Anti-aircraft crew set.

40mm Bofors Gun
In World War Two the Swedish Bofors 40mm anti-aircraft gun was used as a ground mount by both Axis, Allied, and neutral powers. They Germans both purchased and captured them.
The Germans used them on ships, on buildings, and as mobile mounts, with and without the gun shield.
Zvezda makes an excellent Bofors model in 1/72nd scale.
I already have the Airfix 40mm Bofors gun, and I have assigned them to my American Army.
Airfix makes an excellent kit and I have drafted the British crew into being a crew for early World War Two US Army troops in the Philippine Islands.
The Zvezda models have been drafted into the German Army.
I have added a new feature, my own Red Bubble account where you can buy tee shirt, clocks, and other items with original Bunkermeister photographs on them! Check it out.

Robots!
A couple of the models are actually kneeling down.
I don't really care for that, make them standing or just make them short. Zvezda Soviet Border Guard in 1/72nd scale.
This one hovers on jets. He as a bit of an anime look to him, I think.
These would paint up really well.
I like this one, very simple but effective.
He has a very 1950s science fiction movie feel to him.
