It's not actually miniature wargaming.

It's miniature war movie gaming.

Just like miniature wargaming, but more scriped.

So many uses for these figures, I wish I had heard about them years ago.

Subbuteo

Subbuteo made a set called the Presentation Set. It consisted of three men, perhaps two are security men.

It also includes The Queen of England, the Queen Mum, and one of the men may be the Queens' husband.

Shown here with a Revell and Zvezda figure for scale. The bases are thick but the figures are a nice size.

The set came in a little presentation box.

There is also a little loving cup that The Queen presents to the winning soccer team. This set can cost almost $100 in perfect condition, with postage. I paid a lot less for this one after bidding for several of them.

The set includes a mobile crew with sound man.

Modern conflicts often have TV news coverage so they would work well from about 1965 to now.

This studio camera is very nice too.

It could be mounted on the back of a truck for a few action shots.

Two dishes are designed to capture sound, but in modern times they become satellite dishes.

Subbeteo made a TV tower set.

Using this set the toy soccer games could be broadcast all over the wargame table.

It includes this nice tower.

The color commentator with microphone and monitor sits on the second level. The ladder has been removed from the two clips on the second level for clarity.

The cameraman and camera are on the top for maximum visibility.

The Subbutto figures come with a variety of bases, mostly round ones, some thin like this and some thick and others very thick for their game system.

I use sheet styrene to make replacement bases for gaming purposes.

You can see the amount of detail and the paint jobs in this line up.

The figures look pretty good with the new bases. Having a cricket team will provide a needed morale boost for my troops.

Years ago I heard of a miniatures company called Subbutto. I thought they were like BUM used to be; some Spanish company making bad copies of other peoples models. Recently, I found out they actually made games of rugby, cricket, fishing and mostly soccer, or European Football.

They are no longer in business but I went on eBay and found some of the cricket players.

They fit nicely with these WWII Germans from Italeri in 1/72nd scale plastic.

Figures are hard plastic and have reasonable detail. They come pre-painted.

Of course, I don't do WWII British, but they have played the game for several hundred years. I plan to use them with both my British Colonial figures and my Free Indian Legion figures fighting for Nazi Germany.
