BatGirl Mobile

The Hot Wheels Batgirlmobile.
I got this years ago at Los Angeles International Airport.
I think it is from one of the Batman cartoon series, but I don't actually know.
It's a very nice looking car, I think.
The color scheme is very 1966 BatGirl and I like that.

Clean Up

Picking up the vehicles.  Here are the gas generators and some of the trucks as well as the fuel trailer.
Big cargo truck, small cargo trucks, and armored cars.  The armored cars are resin conversions of metal slush cast vehicles.  I don't like to chop up the original vehicles so I cast one and copy it for conversions.
The staff car, more cargo trucks, armored cars and artillery.
Cargo truck, mess trailer, and more cannons.
Batman themed Happy Meal toys repainted as Martian War Machines.

The End and Behind the Scenes

The firepower of the cannons, ready for the attack scored early hits.

The last War Machine staggered in the gas.

But like the others it stumbled and fell breaking up when it hit the ground.

The battle was over as quickly as it started with the War Machines defeated with no loss for the humans.

These are mostly Wal-Mart Christmas buildings set up on a table in my back yard over night.  I put a large board on the wire top table so the snow would build up.  The vehicles are all slush cast and resin models.  The slush cast are probably 80 years old or more.  Most have had their wheels replaced with more authentic resin wheels and all have had their paint stripped off, dents and tears repaired, and then primer painted and finished with olive drab spray paint.  Details painted by hand.  The US Army in raised letters on the sides of the trucks was painted in authentic colors for the branch of the troops.  The US Army assigned colors for each branch, such as light blue for Infantry and Buff for Quartermaster.  I used those colors to depict which branch the vehicle was assigned to.  The snow is real snow that fell overnight here in Kentucky I get about two to five snow days per year.  These photos were taken in January, 2022.  I post photos five or six months before they actually appear in the blog so that I never miss a day.  The gravel around the table has a light dusting of snow and the snow on the table is less than one inch deep.  I like taking photos outside because the lighting looks better.  I like using the table because I can get up close to the models and get at their level easier than having to lay down on the ground.

The Attack

The main street is being attacked by one War Machine.
No artillery is nearby but there is the gas generators!
Here four cannons were loaded and facing the two War Machines that attacked from the east.
Main Street is in peril!

But the gas worked, it brought down a War Machine, it staggers and just fell over, breaking the legs from the cockpit.

The New Gas

The hope is this new gas will help turn the tide.
So far the Army has been pretty much trampled in every encounter with the enemy.
But they say this is something new and should do the trick.
We shall see.

 Waiting.  In the snow.

The New Gas

The armored car covers the main road.
The new gas will be employed for the first time.
Colorless, odorless, and inert, but it will stay zero to about fifty feet off the ground.
Held under compression the entire tank will be empty in only seconds.
The range is short but it is said the effect is instant.

Artillery

The crew stand by their guns.
Due to the manpower shortage the crews are greatly reduced.
The hope is that new powerful weapons, like the new GAS will help turn the tide.
A full battery in the field and ready.
Guns are kept loaded, knowing they might only get one shot off.

Commander and Cook

The trucks keep coming.
Armored cars to protect the convoys.
The commander leaves his staff car.
The command truck carries all the gear needed for the headquarters.
Even the cook is a soldier and carries a gun.
