An Old Mansion and a Colorful Van

A large an imposing manor house.
 A colorful van in front.
It's bold motif is very distinctive.
A group of young people and their dog exit the vehicle.
What are they here for?
Awooo!
Awooo!  Awooo!
Awooo!  Awooo!  Awooo!

Bad Neighborhood

Dante's Inferno from Beetlejuice on one corner.
Scooby-Doo house on another corner.
No wonder there is action in this neighborhood.
This looks like a job....
For the Ghostbusters.
Ambulance at the ready.
For a job close enough to the station to walk to.

Call Us We Believe You

Is there something strange in the neighborhood?
Call Mystery Inc.
No, wait, that's not who you are going to call.
Call those other guys.
Who are they again?

 Oh, yeah, Ghostbusters.

Ghostbusters Set Up

Ghostbusters world headquarters.
With secretary Janine standing at the doors.
The ambulance out front.
And the whole team.
What's that down the block?
Across the street from the Scooby-Doo house, no lack of customers there.
Better look into this!

On the Job with Scooby

The Scooby-Doo gang arrives.
On the lookout for apparitions.
Spooks, and ghosties.
Nothing to see here.
Not a phantom or phantasm in sight.
Is that the Michael Myers house in the foreground???

The Scooby-Doo Crew

Since I got the Scooby-Doo van and the Scooby-Doo house, it seemed natural to get the Scooby-Doo people.  This is Shaggy, Scooby-Doo the dogs' owner.
Daphne the cute girl who works for the detective firm, Mystery Inc.
This is Fred, the leader of the group.
Velma the smart, nerdy girl.
And Scooby-Doo the talking dog.

These are various cheap plastic figures painted straight out of the package, except for Velma who got carved on to make her look less plump and more curvy like the cartoon character.  She also got her legs shortened; cut the legs off, cut off about 1.5mm of leg at the top and glue them back on.

I mount all my super hero / super villain characters, their associates, and subordinates on special bases with their name plate on the front and their characteristics on the bottom.  Main characters like these get a hexagon, associates get a 1/2 hexagon, and the rest get a triangle.

The Mystery Machine

About a year ago I saw the Scooby-Doo van at a local supermarket and it's a cool looking vehicle and a well done model so I purchased it.
Hot Wheels has several tiers of vehicles now, and this is one that cost's about $5.
But the body is metal, the wheels are rubber, very nice, and the paint job is very well done.  Not the headlights and marker lights are both painted.
So they give us a car that is more like the old original Hot Wheels, not like the new ones that are often mostly plastic.  Which I understand they are keeping a low price point and I appreciate that, and still buy the cheap cars frequently.
It's just nice to be able to get well done cars occasionally too.
After getting this vehicle, that's when I decided my Horror collection needed the Scooby-Doo house from Funko Pop Town.
Even the underside is metal, very high quality car.

Scooby House

The Scooby-Doo Funko Pop Town Scooby-Doo Great Dane dog.
At first glance that seems to be a leg up, but it's his tail.
The building.
It's a great building and it works for the last 200 years or so.
I don't plan on doing anything to it but it could be painted or weather to make it look new, or old, or scary.
It has a very ornate roof.
Almost exactly HO scale in my opinion.
