Roco M38A1 Jeeps

I have a lot of these vehicles.  

Like this one, many needed a lot of work.  This vehicle was in production by Roco for a long time and eventually the mold got tired.  The rear chassis got flash on it, the rear frame had flash on it, and the front fenders often had flash on them too.

Used models often are missing the spare tire, gas can, steering wheel, and have a broken windshield.

So I combed my spares boxes and came up with a bunch of parts to restore this Jeep and a few others.
 

Red MPC

MPC ring hand figures.

I like that they came in lots of colors.

I use the different colors as different kids of troops.  I think this dog is Tim Mee civilian dog.

I use the red guys as emergency personnel or as test technicians.

Weapons are a mixture of MPC and Marx recast.

Jeep is one of several MPC Jeeps.
 

Ranger Bond

Back of the Jeepster.

The new painting system of Matchbox seems to only paint either the sides or the front and back with details.

Big roomy interior.

Nice undercarriage.

Jeepster

Matchbox Jeepster.

It seems like a pretty large vehicle.

But its a very well done model.

I like the US Forest Service green, I will likely whip up some decals for that.

I like the hubcaps too.
 

Jeeps

Roco MB Jeep.

The set included a canvas up version.

It was very nice.

Very sporty.

Using the .30 caliber machine gun version you get the scout version, with the wire cutting angle iron in front.

Germans would string wire across roads in a effort to decapitate drivers.  The wire is broken when it hits the metal rod attached to the bumper.

Willys Jeep

The famous Willys Jeep.

HO, 1/87th scale.

Roco made the M38 Jeep and many of us used it as the World War Two Jeep, but this is the real deal.

This is the World War Two Jeep.

It took me years to replace my old M38s.

These are a great little model and worth the wait.

MPC Multiple Police Command

A few MPC ring hand figures with police accessories, and a blue Jeep.

Baton and police rife.  American police have carried rifles for well over 100 years.

This figure is great for the billy club pose!

Fire a warning shot.

Cops and their Jeep.  I need a blue axle and wheels.  When I purchased the Jeep it came with a mixed set of wheels.

Motorcycles and Jeeps

 The government has been worried about the potential for rebel forces to operate in the bush.

 They have asked for Americans to patrol the area as their own forces are stretched so thin already.

It's just a patrol, just a reconnaissance.

 Simply drive around and look for anything unusual.

 Jeeps, light artillery and a few scouting motorcycles.

 The grass is very high.

So every now and then they dismount and check the area on foot.

GI Joe Action Soldier Five Star Jeep

This GI Joe Five Star Jeep has been on my list for a long time.

It has a few damaged parts, but overall it's in good shape.  With my modelling skills I should be able to bring it back to life in no time.  The pull back is broken off but that's an easy fix.

Cracked windshield, easily replaced.

End of bumper is clipped.  I may leave it or fix it, I have not decided.

Trailer eye is missing, replacements are easy to get.

Small chip off the recoilless rifle, a bit of sheet styrene and it's good.

Otherwise it's very clean and everything works well.  No searchlight in the trailer, but I never liked that anyway, and I need a gas can, but have the spare tire.
