More Mummy Business

Hatchets, or Tomahawks?
At attention.  Or in the mummy case.
Sword play.
Ax man.
SDS made a set of movie monsters, this one with the oval base is their mummy.  He is similar in size but much more chunky.
But the SDS figure suffers from only coming in one pose.
Godzilla, Frankenstein, Mummy, and Creature from the Black Lagoon SDS style for comparison with their other figures, all about 1/32nd scale - 54mm.
SDS also did a line of humans vs aliens.  They are sort of 1950s teenagers, here with some of the mummies from Dollar General.
60mm Tim Mee figures, with the SDS teenagers and Dollar General mummies.  Could be the start of a low budget 1950s horror movie!

Teenagers, Robots, and Aliens

Great selection of aliens from ElastoWit.
These are similar to personality figures, you don't need large numbers of them, the movies they are from only showed a few aliens so three is plenty.
Humans Vs Aliens from SDS and here the aliens are from ElastoWit, they both look ready to do battle!
Time to kick some alien.....
Just like those 1950's teen vs aliens movies.
ElastoWit green robots with Time Mee, Robbie, and Robot B9.  Aliens and Robots, ElastoWit has plenty of choices for science fiction and pulp adventures.

Three Robots

The bases of these had various impressions that looked like crop circles.

So using a marker pen I filled them in.

I painted the bases gray and when I gloss coated the whole thing, the gloss coat dissolved the gray a bit.

So the red I painted on originally bled through.

Here they are together.

Robots with a Japanese officer in 1/72nd scale.  Not so big that they are huge, but large enough to be intimidating to a 1/72nd scale size soldier.  About the size of a medium tank.  I have not worked out the wargame data on them yet, but they will likely be about as effective as a tan, but able to move like a person, or fly in the case of the jet robot.

Robot Samurai

I have been painting some of the SCS Direct Robot Fantasy Sci-fi Action Figures.

I am using Tamiya spray paints.  I tried Model Master but the paint never dried, it stayed sticky.  I think it reacts to the rubbery plastic.  So the paint remover when on and the paint went off.

These three robots have a Japanese / anime / Samurai look to them.

So they got selected as my first robots to paint.  I am using high gloss black, chrome silver, and a tan color.  The plan is to next paint the main parts of the robot leaving the nooks and crannies the base color for contrast.  This will enhance the Samurai look as they wore clothing and mail under their armor and had a two-tone color scheme.
