For years I have been buying various dollar store buildings. These are two of my most recent purchases.I got some new paints and used them to paint these new buildings. The paints are similar to poster paints. These are the colors that I used to paint this one.And these colors were the ones I used for this one.The colors are rather thick, like poster paints. As you can see the buildings look much better with just a little paint.

Tree and Building
The tray for the tree makes a nice planter.Caesar Miniatures Japanese figures, 1/72nd scale. They look nice here with these two buildings.Sometimes just adding a few buildings can create a very different atmosphere in a set up.I think these look nice together.

Asian Building
One place to get terrain is in the pet department of your local stores.Reptile and fish tank decor can be usable. It can be difficult to get Asian themed buildings in model shops, so I picked these two items in Walmarts pet department. This little pagota has a rather short door, but I am considering cutting the resin and making the door larger. Here is a 1/72nd scale figure, he has a thick base and a big headdress so he looks about 2mm taller than usual. Here a Caesar Miniatures figure in the same location.

Dollar Store Buildings
I like the cheap dollar store buildings and I think they can be easily improved with a little extra paint job.The yellow building on the left was the starting place for the building on the right. I painted it up and changed the building color. Note the windows, once the wooden framing and the windows are painted they are much improved. This is another building that got a similar painting upgrade. These buildings are generic enough that I think they can be used for a long period of time and in many parts of the world.I use the cheap acrylic paints from places like WalMart, Hobby Lobby, and Michaels that are sometimes as inexpensive as fifty cents for a large bottle. These can be rural, but for older times they could work as town buildings too.The door sizes can vary a lot on these buildings but I try and get ones that are about an inch tall. But real buildings have doors that vary a lot, particularly in the days before building codes.

Addams Family House
The TV show The Addams Family is pretty funny, and has some interesting characters, and building. There is an HO scale plastic model kit of this building in several versions. The Funko Pop version is about 1/100 scale and comes with Uncle Fester and Thing. The legal stuff. It is an excellent building and would work for at least the last 150 years or more, I think. It it not really spooky so much as perhaps a little dirty in appearance.Nice chimney.
Good details.Nice landscaping. The driveway is just large enough for an HO car but not a Hot Wheels, which run much larger.I like a nice flat space on the roof, it's great for snipers and other activity. The ribs on the bottom of the base show how sturdy this building is.

New Building
The right side of the building. I like the textures on this structure. A whole Mexican village by this sculptor would be great.
The back of the billboard.
Left side stairs and door.
I like buildings with flat roofs or at least flat parts, more play value because you can set troops on them.
Nice signage and good detail on the cow skull.
More small spooky detail.
Large billboard.
Large billboard female.

Flaming Gate
Recently I got this flaming circle in the mail. I also had an old mini-stargate type oval thing for decades. They fit together nicely, I think.
Fire truck in the fire station.
Run through the fire ring on the way to the fire emergency.
I like this set up of miscellaneous bits and such. It could be a star gate. It could be a time travel device. It might be almost anything.
