I have been working on the interior to my flak tower, WWII Berlin.
This is the hospital. X-Ray machine, hospital beds, gurney.
Surgical beds, supply cabinet, table, stand with IV bottle.
Large lights for conducting surgeries, note the tiled floor.

Flak Tower Hospital
For about 25 years I have been working on the Battle of Berlin.
The Zoo Flak Tower contained a hospital.
What is a hospital without operating rooms?
I have been using resin bits, left over sprue, HeroClix parts, wirescreen, Roco Mintanks wheels, sheet styrene and all kind of other things to create the hospital.
Caesar Miniatures figure in 1/72nd scale for size. Obviously he is post war.
More on this as I continue to work on the project.

Flak Tower
Two men stand guard at one of four entrances to the Zoo Flak Tower.
Four tanks prepare for a parade.
The crews stand by their vehicles as a parade of infantry march past.
They salute the officer has he leads his men past.
Boley Jagdpanther and Caesar Miniatures Marching Germans.

Berlin Zoo Tower
For about 20 years now I have been working off and on building a WWII German flak tower for Berlin in 1/72nd scale. The water table was high in Berlin so building underground air raid shelters was difficult. So they built three massive above ground shelters and this is the one called the Zoo Tower. Each main tower had a secondary tower that was smaller and had radars on it. The guns on the main towers would knock out their own radars from the concussion of their own firing, so radars were put on a nearby smaller tower.
The towers had big windows covered with massive steel doors, this was my project for today, install the shutters over the windos.
They are getting glued on with E6000 glue. It has great initial stickyness and so the shutters can be stuck on even though they are vertical and won't fall off. Different glues for different jobs.
I made the master and cast the shutters, 144 of them. Then painted them gray and then weathered and rusted them. You can still see a few of them on the ruins of the tower in Berlin. I left space for the shutters when I painted the flak tower so they would adhere to the wood not the paint. Before picture.
After picture. More tomorrow, come back soon and leave a comment.

Flak Tower
The water table is high in Berlin and the Germans discovered that as long as an air raid shelter has a really strong roof, the sides did not have to be underground to withstand the fall of bombs. So they built three massive flak towers in Berlin that included air raid shelters. They also built smaller command post and radar centers nearby each one to control the anti-aircraft guns. The shock wave from firing the guns was too great to put the radars on the same towers.
This one is nearly finished. I have resin cast the shutters, they go on over the small brown patches. The shutters were thick steel doors that let in air when it was safe and they were closed when the raid was on. I have all the guns, but they still need to be painted. I am working on the staff for the interior. The center part of this model is a couple boxes with drawers. The drawers pull open so the troops can be moved around inside the model. There are five drawers on two opposite sides for a total of ten interior rooms. I plan on making a command post for the tower, a command post for the troops in the area, a hospital and the rest will probably be generator room and civilian air raid spaces.
The tower is 1/72nd scale. My plan is to finish it next summer when I do the smaller control tower.
