Anti-Tank Strong Point

Two different ways to have the Roco 37mm anti-tank gun.  Some of mine are in good enough shape that the trails can be opened and others are glued together for strength.
Jeep tows the next gun into position.
Troops man the gun.  Airfix WWII USMC old version.
Watching.
The trees are from Marx Toys, probably 60 years old.  The road is asphalt roofing shingle.
Roco 2 1/2 ton truck.  I got about two dozen Roco vehicles painted in this camouflage, but without the wheels painted and with bare plastic patches.  I covered the bare spots, added a driver, and painted the tires.
Everyone together for an anti-tank strong point.

Marines or Army?

Mars US Marines Vietnam War set.  Again, I think this figure is an anomaly.  Like the two I mentioned yesterday, I think he is a US Army Special Forces soldier.  He does not have body armor on, like Marines usually wear, and he is using a pump action shotgun.  Not typical for Marines in Vietnam.
Mars always does a great job letting us know what is in each set and showing painting instructions as well on the back of the box.
The front of the box.
Two figures from the set that I think are not Marines but US Army.  I am not an expert on the Marines in Vietnam.  So I can't tell from the patter of the shirt pockets, or the web gear if they are wearing authentic gear or specific Army or Marine Corp gear.
But these guys are going to figure predominately in my Special Forces troops in the future.

The figures in this set are a chubby 54mm size.  Note them next of a 60mm Tim Mee man with a rifle and bayonet, and an MPC ring hand figure.  I will use them together as I think they are close enough in size to be okay together.

Get Back

After that little scare the men are on edge.
Sure it was nothing,
But it could have been something....
Each man says a little prayer for a safe return.
The Doctor is glad his skills have not been called into play yet.
Jungle Jim hurries the men along.
Have to get the supplies back.
Warriors bring up the rear.

What Is That?

Spear ready, what is that?!
Rifle ready!
Chief says, it's nothing, just nerves.
The men are getting jumpy.
Close to home they don't want something to happen.

But far enough from the village the men are getting worn out and tired.

Spears and Shields at the Ready

Jungle Jim and Kimba the chimp watch for stragglers.
Using the drums they communicate to the villiage.
So far no trouble at the village but the men are still worried.
The men carry the welcome meat back to the village and hurry to get there.
Too many people have been lost on this trail.

Shields and spears at the ready, because they don't want to be next!

On the March Home

The tribal shaman is pleased they were able to harvest a zebra for the men.
A couple rifle shots are much easier than the bow.
The European hunters are happy to have been able to help.
Thank God they are on the way back to the village.
Too many strange disappearances recently.
At least we have a few men with guns and the Doctor along with us in the event of trouble.

Safari Starts The Return to the Village

Bringing back the meat after the hunt.
Since the rebel insurgency the road is well maintained.
It makes it easier for the security forces to respond to trouble.
And easier for the local people to travel.
The Askari police officer provides some protection.
Between villages nearly everyone carries a weapon now.

Hunting

Some of the men go out to hunt.
The Chief goes with them because he must set the example for bravery in a time of crisis.
Elephant too large, we must find something small enough to carry back to the village.
Zebra is good.
That one, BANG!
He's down!
