I use these slightly larger ammo pouches as BAR magazines.I would like to have five button shirts for everyone but so far only gradual success. My plan is for everyone to have a pistol belt, two ammo pouches, two hand grenades, a first aid pouch, canteen and canteen case. Mostly there, a few exceptions are those who don't carry M1 rifles, like the LT.I have alternate weapons for a few figures, BAR from some unknown company for two squads, I would like two per squad but so far no go. I have a few Springfields as sniper rifles and a few regular ones without the scope.Their rifles are in a box when I took these photos. Note the "doll" stands, I painted them a three color camouflage and they look pretty good, particular outdoors.Helmets are stacked on top of their Ridgeway hats, only for inventory purposes. Most of the helmets are Cotswold helmets with some GI Joe and a few others.I have a supply of pith helmets for use in the Pacific or Africa, enough for a squad anyway. Everyone has brown GI Joe boots, some from Cotswold.

The LT
Lt. Hanley, Leader, Third Platoon.
First lieutenant.
Nice haircut.
Excellent detail on the belt and shirt.
His weapon is the M1 carbine with a 15 round box magazine; the GI Joe carbine is the M2 carbine that has selective semi-auto and full-auto fire and a 30 round banana magazine.
As an officer he carries a binocular case.
And a Cold .45 semi-automatic pistol.
A better view of his carbine.

He is distinguished by his camouflage trousers.
He is otherwise equipped like most of the Third Squad.

Draftee
That helmet looks a bit large for this GI.
He is PVT Billy Nelson they youngest member of the platoon.
Rather a maniacal look in this view.
But in reality he is quite tame. In fact, he is Barbies boyfriend Ken, drafted into the Army when my daughter stopped playing with dolls.
He wears the standard Third Squad gear, the shirt is so old it has faded in the light.

PVT McCall
Another member of the third squad.
He has replacement hands from Cotswold, two fists.
He is my McCall figure from TVs Combat!
Standard gear, with a field jacket.
Cold weather hat under the helmet.
I love the face, I have tried to mix and match heads on these guy rather than just use 40 standard GI Joe heads.
My Third Squad looks a bit more scruffy than the other two as they have seen more combat.

More Squad Weapons
Each of my squads also gets a sniper rifle. I think this is actually the sniper rifle issued to the USMC but it's the closest thing I can find in 1/6th scale.
This and the shotgun below are from 21st Century Toys.
Pump action 12 gauge shotgun.
The US is one of the few nations to use a shotgun in combat.
Each of my three squads gets this selection of weapons as the mission dictates.

Bazooka
Each of my squads also get a bazooka.
I have three of these rockets for them.
There is an attachment point for a sling but mine don't have a sling.
The rocket actually fits inside the tube.
And will slide out the end. Model by 21st Century Toys.
