Eye Monsters

The Trollenberg Terror is an interesting old movie that has a crawling eye as the main monster.

The movie The Atomic Submarine is another giant eye creature.  At Halloween time these bags of eyeballs in several colors were sold in a few different stores.

They are essentially ping pong balls with an eye and red veins printed on it.  But I wanted more, so I painted the back of the ball in Tamiya orange paint.

The eyes were set into a small glass, lined with aluminum foil to hold the eye in place and provide a ragged edge to the eye.

The glass cup, it used to have a candle in it and when the candle was used up, I cleaned up the glass and use it for hobby purposes.

Foil used for the liner.

Ready for painting, it looks a bit like an egg holder!

Push the eye down so it does not jump out when spray painted.

I was able to use the same foil for a test run and then for mass production.

Eyes lined up for spray painting.

Tamiya spray can in the paint shaker ready for spraying.

TS-31 Bright Orange eyes.

Another batch of eyes ready for painting.

Painted and drying.

Actually they look pretty good just like this!

Crawling Eye Monsters

Giant space monsters!

The anti-alien troops fight the crawling eye!

A horror from outer space!

Their visage is too horrible.

Fighting to the end.

Terrible monsters on the attack.

Turn spiders upside down and their legs become tentacles, glue the eyeball on top and you have an instant crawling eye monster!  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BDGwCMcLs_M
