Figure Conversion in Two Scales

Here is the war correspondent in the rear with the gear.

The original solider on the brown horse and the original civilian in the seat, next to the converted soldier.  Converted civilian on the black horse.

The sword makes a good substitute for a whip.

Figure Conversions

Eagle Games horse and colonial wars figure.

He has a sword at the ready.

Cheapo plastic civilian figure.

He sort of looks like someone copied a pilot figure from a 1/72nd scale airplane.  Legs apart to use the pedals, and hands ready to hold the stick.

But cut him in half and he is a seated colonial wars figure when combined with the upper body of the colonial wars rider.

Since I hate to waste anything, combine the civilian upper with the military lower, and you have a civilian rider.  I plan to use him for a war correspondent.

Vans and Painting

The weather has been warm and so I am painting a lot of stuff that has been waiting in the line to be painted

This is the paint I use for high gloss black, Rust-Oleum 2X High Gloss Black.  It is great.

I have been painting some of my Ford Woodies at least partially black.

This wagon includes Evergreen sheet plastic, Imex wagon wheels, wire, Eagle Games horse, and lego type bricks.

Looks pretty good when painted with primer.  This is a police paddy wagon van, but it could be any number of civilian vans, ambulance, delivery, photography van.
 

Float Mock Up

Junkanoo float with the major construction done.

Figures are conversions from Airfix and styrene civilians.

Eagle Games horses cut in half and front at the front and back at the back and middle in the spares bin.

This is a little skateboard model.

With four Lego type bricks on top.

Junkanoo floats are often outrageous and wild.

I plan to add more figures and flock the whole thing as flowers.
 

Eagle Games Colonial

Eagle Games Colonial 1/72nd scale figures.

These are ACW, American Civil War figures with horses from I think, Strelets.

A couple friends gave me some surplus 1/72nd scale horses, mostly Napoleonic era, without riders, and I am using them to make units using Eagle Games riders.  Eagle Games figure sets don't include horses, you have to buy them separately.  They are excellent horses, but only one pose.

Troops with cork helmets are colonial era.  I use them as Americans, they are rather generic.

Eagle Games horses have come in gray, black, and brown, but the gray have not been available for a long time.

Eagle Games artillery are the same in the two ACW sets and the Colonial set.  Carriage and barrel are one piece and then two separate wheels.
 

Eagle Games Troops

I have been working on the Eagle Games figures.

These are 1/72nd scale figures for ACW and Colonial.  Figures are rather generic and a bit thin.

They come with two horse riding poses, a standing firing rifleman, and five cannons, 12 pound Napoleon types.  No horses you have to buy them separate. 

The ACW set also gives you a flag bearer, and the Colonial set gives you a heliograph team of  two men.  I like them because they fit okay with most plastic troops of the era and really help to bulk out a firing line with standing shooting figures.  The cannons are sturdy, one piece gun and carriage and two separate wheels.  I use the wheel for other wagons, as I don't quite need this many cannons.  However, I also have cut up the cannons and used the barrels to make naval carriage guns, or as monuments with cannon on them.  I also have cut the gun off the carriage and flipping the carriage over, used it as a limber for other guns.
 

Eagle Games 1/72nd Scale ACW

Eagle Games American Civil War Confederate set, with Eagle Games horses sold separately.

 A bunch of standing firing guys and some horses with 5 cannons.

They don't have crews from the guns.  My plan is to perhaps convert civilians and resin cast kepi heads or sort crews from other companies that make ACW artillery.

A line of horse cavalry.

They look pretty good together I think.

The Eagle Games ACW Union troops.

Essentially the same as the Confederates.

But with a flag bearer.

Again horses sold separately and no artillery crews.

I think I can figure out the artillery crew problem, eventually.
 

Eagle Games Loco

Eagle Games makes a train related board game.

This is the locomotive from that game.

It's typical late 1800s locomotive.

Once piece, plastic.

My plan is to use these for my Santa project.

They actually would be seven feet long in 1/72nd scale.

So rather than being a kids toy, it is more of a garden railroad toy, or perhaps a kids riding toy in 1/72nd scale.

The tan tank is from the Civilization game

The three trains are very similar, with the red and black being identical apart from plastic color.  The tan one is almost different in every detail.
