SS Dollar Tree At Sea

The crew is at sea, preparing the nets as the storm is subsiding.
Still a heavy sea they seek some relief from the winds behind some small islands.
It seems things are calming down a bit.
Yep, everything is just fine.
Until giant tentacles break the water and reach over the boat!

Eagle Games Sprues

More Eagle Games sets, these soft plastic items are cities, they are about 1/2400 scale and I use them for coastal cities with my ships.
The set also comes with these figures.  The monk with a banner works well as a Christian cleric in procession.  The man walking with a stick looks Mayan, or Incan to me but should work for many eras and locations.
The figures work well for 1/72nd scale.
This set has a round coast defense fort, buildings, trains, and 1/72nd scale figures.
The figures are African natives and Arabs on horseback.  The Arabs will fight my FFL and the Natives will likely be allies of Tarzan.
The buildings are going to be doll houses for Santa and the trains will be Santa toys also.
The star fort and round fort go with my 1/2400 ships.
These ships are generic for Attack! game.  They are some little patrol boats and weird submarines.
Here are aircraft carriers and battleships.  Both are rather small.  I will use all of these ships with my 1/2400 scale ships.  They work well as substitutes for the "real model" ships until they are observed by the enemy.  Makes it hard to tell what the strength of the enemy is.  The patrol boat is probably worth using as is as a generic patrol boat.

Wargame

Larry uses a hex based ranging and movement system.

My troops dropped some smoke on the enemy to cover movement.  White smoke on turn one, yellow on turn two, turn three they yellow smoke goes away.

My village sent trucks to haul off loot and kept lots of troops to guard the village.

Larry sent boats to the ship.

The crew repelled the attack and in the end the ship managed to get away.

Sidewheeler Ship

The Germans used any thing that would float to evacuate German civilians and troops from the Baltic Sea as World War Two was drawing to a close.

Here a Revell 1/72nd scale KM sailor stands on the deck of the side wheeler. The Germans used them to tend submarine nets in harbors, and as coastal patrol craft.

As I continued construction, I moved around some of the parts taken off the kit as a sort of mock up version of the model. There will be many more changes, but this is the general outline of the final model.
