Deadpool Dune Buggy

This is a Deadpool Hot Wheels.
The motif is supposed to be related to that super hero.
I doubt that he ever actually appeared in a dune buggy because Hot Wheels often takes otherwise stock cars and paints them up for a comic book character.
Nearly all of my Super Hero collection stops at about 1980, and few or no new characters after that.
That 50 year history is really enough for me.
But this is a cool car and so I got one.

Deora Surf Car Line Up

I am building cities from all over the world but my largest, is of course the USA.
Growing up in Southern California, surf culture was all around me.
While I did not surf, I did like the movies, the aesthetic, and music, and the beach too.

As part of that I have been buying and painting beach people and beach vehicles.

Hot Wheels is from California and they make a lot of surf related vehicles.
These are all part of their recent Deora cars.

Surf Deora

The Hot Wheels Deora has been made in many versions.
The Deora was a real custom car and one of the first Hot Wheels cars.
Since the 1960s Hot Wheels has been updating the car and making new ones.
This is the tooned version.  It is a car that has been modified to look like a cartoon caricature of the original.
The drivers compartment is often kept in scale with the original to give the impression that if this were a real car it could be driven.
This is a cute version.
It's part of my surfing project.

More Corsair

The back end of the 1938 Phantom.
It's a pretty cool car.
It almost looks like the rear could be the front!
Bottom has a bit of detail.
Batman approved.

Hot Wheels Corsair

I live in rural Kentucky where there are not a lot of places to get Hot Wheels.  This place, Big O's is a good and inexpensive place to find old Hot Wheels still in the package.
This is one of several I got there recently for $2 each or less!
This is the 1938 Phantom Corsair which was based on a real car.
The real car could seat 6 adults and go 115 miles per hour.
I think the front looks like it should have two machine guns mounted in those holes.
I think I am going to repaint it for use by the Shadow.

Most likely it will be all black, glossy.

Modern Abstract Hot Wheels

I am working on a few Batman 66 Villains of my own.
This car will belong to one based on Dutch painter Piet Mondrian.
He was known for painting pictures of lines and rectangles, similar to the designs on these cars.
This particular Hot Wheels car is very unusual because it comes in crushed condition.
It also has white front wheels and black back wheels.  White wheels are very uncommon on any Hot Wheels car.
The original artist was very abstract in his work and I think the Batman Villain may also be an artist.
Joker and Clock King both had episodes where they were working in the world of painting.
There were also episodes were the there were sculptures of both Batman and Joker.
And who can forget the paintings done by Alfred, butler to Millionaire Bruce Wayne?
Hot Wheels also made this van, which turned out to be a bit of a peg warmer.
So I picked up a few of them, thinking they might be useful for this Villain.

Barbie Land

Another Barbie Land item, this time a store.
Like the other two this will end up as part of my Disneyland type amusement park.
The park is full of little shops that sell gifts, and toys, and foods.
So this certainly will lend itself to that environment.
While these items are about heroic 32mm size, I think most will be fine with my 1/72nd scale figures.
The shopping is cool but it is a bit big!
These are the only three sets I have and the only ones I have seen.  There may be others.
Put together they make a nice little vignette and here is a Hot Wheels Batmobile and Batman in 1/72nd scale.
