Dumont HIll
Not far from my apartment is Dumont Hill, now a park.
http://www.scottsvilleky.org/DUMONT_HILL_PARK/Dumont_Hill_Park.html
During the American Civil War, 5,000 Union troops camped here for several weeks.
Given that the town only had 500 residents, that was a big deal.
The site has been preserved and there is an active group working to keep it nice.
There are several walking trails and upgrades in progress.
About half of the park has been left in it's wild state. I have been back a few times and I anticipate more Army Men photos taken here will be posted on Bunker Talk real soon.
