German SdKfz 234/5 Armored Car

Roco Minitanks SdKfz armored cars.

Sometimes I like to make conversions of vehicles that never were built, but that are plausible.

This is an Sdkfz 234/5 81mm mortar carrier.

This vehicle never existed and as far as I know was never even proposed.

I think as a reconnaissance armored car a mortar might have been a useful weapon.

It would enable reconnaissance units to lay down smoke to escape, or lay down mortar fire to probe a concealed position.

Shown here with a standard SdKfz 234/2.

I add front bumpers and rear spare tires to my German armored cars.

This is an easy conversion and since I have a lot of these models in my collection this put a damaged one back into service.
