Cold War Russians

Marx also made 60mm Soviet troops.

These are recasts of those troops; nice officer.

Marx did not shy away from the horror of war, here a soldier takes a hit.

Soldier with a fish fur hat.

In the early part of WWII the Soviets used the French style Adrian helmet.

I have never been a fan of wounded guys or hand to hand fighting soldiers.  Still, it's a nice sculpt.

Like the Germans, the Soviets used stick grenades too.

MPC and Marx officer and grenade thrower poses.

I got one set of each, I will use them with my MPC Germans as East Germans for the Cold War.

Dirty Commies

MPC did a line of troops from the Soviet Union.

They make a pretty good squad.

Nice faces on most of them.

Even Cossack troops.

And one with a sword.

This guy is similar to the SGT in their German set.

General Patton does not like the looks of them.

The officer is typical.

I like the variety of headgear.

Armored Cars

Tim Mee armored car.  This one is styrene, I think.

I got five of them.

This one was perfect.

This one had a replacement gun that was tweaked.

This one had a perfect hull and turret but missing gun and wheels.

I eventually did some parts swapping to insure the best and most complete parts were together.

Still missing an axle and wheels for one model.

Bad hull coupled with the bad gun.

I need to obtain three axles and one gun to finish the set of five armored cars.

Machine Guns and Tentage

Gen. Patton and post WWII machine guns.

I am trying to round up 25 each of the machine gun and mortar for my Pentomic Army.

Not quite there but very close.

Both the machine gunner and the mortar man fit okay with my 60mm troops.  Kneeling figures are often designed over size.

MPC made a number of designs for their tents.  This is one of their hospital tents.

Army 351st Infantry tent.

Medical cot for the tent.

The white on white tent is for the ski troops.
