Storage System
My collection is mostly stored in plastic underbed storage boxes. I put a 3X5 card at the end with the contents written in big letters on the end.
The boxes are a little clear and I can see a bit of what's inside.
I started an upgrade on my whole collection storage system about seven years ago; the process is ongoing.
I line the inside of the boxes because the plastic is not a good surface for storing vehicles.
Without the lining the vehicles pile up like this without a lining to keep the vehicles in place.

War Stories
Ever since I was a kid I loved reading comic books, and Star Spangled War Stories feature the War the Time Forgot were some of my favorite.
Sure these dinosaurs are four to ten times the size science tells us they are supposed to be, but science has been wrong before.
Besides a 40 pound pterodactyl is no treat, but one with a 300 foot wingspan is very threatening!
In these comics dinosaurs came from the sky, the ground, the tropics and the arctic, and the Army, Navy and sometimes even the Japanese had to deal with them.
I think is the real story behind PT-109.

Trees and DVDs
My wife and I recently watched the move "Mystery Men." It is one of the worst movies we ever say. It was so bad that we agreed to remove it from the movie collection. Considering we have only done that three times in seven years and have a movie collection of 2,000 movies and TV episodes, it's quite the honor. First, I primer spray paint the back of the disk.
Then I primer painted the front of the disk, coverage does not have to be full, just a reasonable light coverage. The only line in the movie that was any good is when one of the characters says he is invisible, unless someone is looking at him.
Plant one tree from the train show in the center and another beside it.
I use the cheap $1 flat spray paint from Wal-Mart as my primer. Later, I will flock the base, but I am considering adding more plant coverage.

Train Show Haul
The other item to get at train shows besides trains, is buildings.
These are HO scale buildings from Bachman.
My plan is to use them on my WWII era US Army base as housing, headquarters, train station and such.
Buildings like this are often used for general officer quarters.
I like these buildings because they are sturdy and almost timeless.
This train station will work for anytime in the last 100 years.
These little buildings will end up as commissary and similar buildings.
These little one story houses will be senior NCO quarters.
