1st Squads Gear

I am trying to give each of my troops a helmet and a hat, you can see the hats peeking out of the bottom of the helmet.

The troops, with boots, have the tall Hasbro style brown boots.

I would like each soldier in my platoon to have a pistol belt with at least a canteen cup, canteen and first aid kit, two grenades, and a backpack.

I want my first squad to have all the gear. Field jacket, poncho, sleeping bag, duffel bag, and mess kit with knife, fork, and spoon, and either a shelter or camouflage netting.

All this will fit into the backpack or strapped to it, along with and entrenching tool and entrenching tool cover.

 The netting can work alone or over the tent.

These are the boots I like for my WWII to early Vietnam War troops.

SGT Savage needs boots.

Like these, a lot of my troops had a variety of different boots and I want greater uniformity.

These guys had a 50% sale on boots.

So I got a pair of them for SGT Savage.
 

Pegs and Poles

This soldier has his weapon and backpack, and entrenching tool.

I use a mixture of both GI Joe and other brands, but mostly GI Joe.

GI Joe Army poncho.

This is the sleeping bag, generally not that expensive, when you can find one.

Duffel bag For holding uniforms and personal effects.

Mess kit and camouflage netting.

Tent pegs and tent pegs.  Each soldier who gets a tent or camouflage netting gets pegs and poles too.
 

SGT Savage Action Figure

This SGT Savage 12 inch action figure has been without any gear only a helmet for at least two years.

Today I rounded up a shirt and a pair of pants for him.

And a stand too.

And I also got him a pistol belt, ammo pouch, and Thompson submachine gun.

I my making an effort to sort through the GI Joe gear and get a better handle on what I have and what I still need.

 My initial goal is to try and get everyone sorted so I know how many I have, and what condition they are in.  Last year I repaired about a dozen of them with broken hands, arms, feet and legs.  I still got about three or four that need more work.
