Hey, Listen, What's That Sound?
The Roco SWS Halftrack, with Sound Detector.
HO 1/87 scale model in plastic.
An old Roco, this model is probably at least 40 years old.
Model number Z-130.
In real life only a tiny number of these were built. Roco should have made the SdKfz 251 halftrack, over 22 versions were made of those and in large numbers.
Still, this is a good model and it served in many WWII HO scale German armies.
I often used it as a radar rather than sound detector, but that's just me.

Roco SWS Halftrack
The Roco SWS halftrack.
1/87th HO scale model armored cargo carrier.
The Germans also used and unarmored version of this vehicle.
Sadly Roco never did the unarmored version.
Roco did a number of different versions of this armored vehicle.
We will see them later.

MPC Air Force
Decades ago, MPC made single piece airplane toys.
There were not to any particular scale, but the bigger aircraft did result in larger models.
Look carefully on the wings and you can see the markings and information about each plane.
On the underside and the top they have statistics about the aircraft.
Beautiful models, and educational too.
They came in big bags for less than a dollar!
I don't know how many different planes they made, but it was a lot. Now I use them with my 1/72nd scale figures as air recognition models in Air Force and Luftwaffe buildings.

Fire Police
That tan Opel Blitz firetruck also comes in green.
The Fire Police responded all over Germany in the event of large fires.
They used this dark green color on their vehicle with the Fire Police emblem on their door.
The fire department is having trouble containing the blaze.
The fire police arrive to help fight the fires.
That added manpower and equipment will help save this quarter of the city.

Opel Blitz Firetruck
A Roco Opel Blitz fire truck.
HO 1/87th scale.
As a result of the Allied air raids the Germans had a huge need for fire trucks.
The great Opel Blitz truck made a very good fire truck.
It is a wonderful model from Roco, lots of great detail, ladder, and hose reel.
Nice undercarriage and comes in two colors.

Draisine
Hauler Draisine in HO 1/87th scale.
The Germans had to patrol vast amounts of rail lines to prevent sabotage.
Small self-propelled vehicles like this were used to guard them.
Operating alone or in small trains these armored vehicles were very tough opponents to small groups of infantry.
Some had tank turrets and others carried machine guns and big radios.
This excellent resin model has metal wheels and works great on HO model train tracks.
