I purchased two of them, they are about five times the cost of a regular Hot Wheels.
I took this one apart.
It's held together by two plastic rivets and two metal ones.
Metal rivets.
I will likely repaint them both but might make one a SEAL insertion boat in green or black.

I am interested in seeing how these turn out after your conversion; I'm not seeing it myself - but maybe if you lose the weird looking yellow top?
The weird looking yellow top is three periscopes, but it's hard to tell in the photo.
