A Bug Planet

 It's a bug planet.

Nothing moving but bugs.

Even the plants have thorns and are inhospitable. 

A truck on patrol encounters a bug.

Men in the back open fire.

They dismount as the bug approaches.

More troops arrive.

More troops engage the bugs.

Land Rover

Hot Wheels Land Rover.

I like the color palette on the model.

Nice wheels too.

They fit my color scheme for Starship Troopers.

I like the camouflage job as well.

A good sturdy vehicle.

So far I have picked up five of them.

Nice truck.

Cops and Cop Cars

As part of my US Army 1938 project I am trying to put together police forces for the same era.

Matchbox came out with this interesting car model.

 A great looking cop car from just the right era.

Very good looking machine.

Cop cars should have a running board!

Best of all, it's not made in China.

Here it is with a partner and an Airfix soldier.

I took an Airfix WWI US Army soldier....

And switched his head with an Airfix WWI British soldier.

It makes him look like a 1930's American police officer.

MPC in Blue

MPC soldiers in blue.

Originally sold in blue as USMC and they came in a yellow sand sifter for beach play.

They also were sold in green.

I use the blue ones as a naval landing party of blue jackets.

The figures were very thin, probably as a cost cutting measure.

They had really good detail, like the helmet mesh.

Nice folds in the clothing.

The radio man and the walking soldier at sling arms look similar from a distance.

I like the various packs they carry.
