US Army M60 tanks were never used in combat by the US Army.
Still they were a workhorse during the Cold War.
The 90mm gun on the M48 was considered enough to deal with any armor threat by the Viet Cong.
So the 105mm gunned M60 series was not deployed there.
Still they saw combat with other nations, the USMC, and were widely exported.
In service with the US Army for nearly 50 years, not too bad!

Hey - not to be argumentative, but I'm pretty sure those are early A1s; the original M-60 had the same shape turret as the M-48; only easy way to really tell them apart (visually) was the 105mm gun on the M60, and the flat (rather than rounded) hull front. I thought the elongated, "egg shaped" turret on your models was a feature of the M-60A1 revision.
Otherwise - nice tanks!
You are correct, these particular models are M60A1. The blog text is about the M60 series, not just the specific tanks illustrated.

The hulls of the M-60 series tank did see combat in Viet Nam, under folding bridges and the CEV,(Combat Engineer Vehicle). ….In our AO up in I Corps of the Americal Division, they were attached to us whenever we had a troop or Squadron operation going on.
Yes, the AVLB was a useful vehicle and very cool to watch unfold, it's so huge!
