Gettysburg
Gettysburg is a great place to visit.
There are monuments and signs everywhere that explain what happened at every site.
Much of the area is just as it was at the time of the battle.
They have cannons in place that are often the same kinds as those used in the same spot.
The park was very clean, and well maintained, the National Park Service is doing a great job!

Hi Mike,
You are so right! I had the good fortune of visiting the new Visitors' Center right after it opened and was immensely impressed. For folks planning to visit, that facility can serve to orient you when you make your visit, providing maps and even guides (for a fee). Make certain to visit East Cavalry Field which is about two miles away from the main battlefield and the spot where old JEB Stuart was repelled by the US Cavalry.
What a great way to spend a few days!
Jerry
Thanks for reading Celtic! We took a bus tour. They stopped at a couple places in addition to a running commentary. Later, we drove around and stopped where we wanted.
