Gettysburg
Gettysburg is a great place to visit.
There are monuments and signs everywhere that explain what happened at every site.
Much of the area is just as it was at the time of the battle.
They have cannons in place that are often the same kinds as those used in the same spot.
The park was very clean, and well maintained, the National Park Service is doing a great job!

Gettysburg
The combat is close at the wall.
Up and down the line, it's bayonet and bullet.
The soldiers are brave on both sides.
But it is the Union that holds the field.
The wall is secure and the guns fall silent.
On all the Gettysburg photos, click on the photo to enlarge it and look at the background. It is an amazing place. While I did set up little soldiers here, I did not disturb the rocks, I looked for a flat one to set up on. I did not want to disturb this historic place.

Gettysburg
Union Forces defend the rock wall.
The fighting is close up.
Officers are right up in the thick of it!
The men follow the flag.
The enemy falters.

Gettysburg
"The Angle" at Gettysburg.
The local farm fields were bordered by these rock walls.
Clear the fields and drop the rocks to form a wall.
These rocks also made good cover during a battle.
Confederate troops move forward.
Soldier with the sword up is one of the oldest in my collection, a Giant of Hong Kong figure, at least 40 years old, I think.
