Almost a full Armored Division of Sherman tanks.
Here is the set up, paper sky on a big cardboard box that has been cut open to make a background and sides. Sides are important because it lets you get longer views.
After taking the photos I edited some of them to remove the color. Takes about ten seconds.
The tanks are mostly Paul Heiser Models and Roco, Bill, Jr. and a few others, in HO scale. Since we are used to seeing World War Two in black and white I think it adds some realism to the photos to display some of them this way.
Same photo in color. The Dollar Tree doll house colors are very loud.
Here I played with the color saturation so they are not totally black and white but give a hint of color. The doll houses don't look so glaringly awful in this mode. The Eiffel Tower is a lawn decoration from Orchard Supply Warehouse from about 15 years ago. The Arc de Triumph is an end table from Design Toscano, an online home decor store. It is a giant piece of resin, great detail, very heavy. It's about one inch too short to be HO scale, so pretty dead on I think.
