I always thought the M-47 was a very cool-looking tank design; just as an FYI, have you noticed that Schuco just started selling a very, very detailed diecast version of this tank, in West German Bundeswehr livery, in HO scale? I can't find anyone here in the USA selling them; they are available on ebay (for a steep, but not prohibitively expensive $13-$15 dollars, but since they have to be shipped from overseas the postage is ridiculous - sometimes $30 or more. Schuco is using the old Marklin 4MFOR molds; I have a couple HO scale Marklin M-48A2G2 tanks (with 105mm thermal shrouded gun) and they are my very favorite tanks; I expect the Schuco M47 would be the same quality
Mike: If it's classic RoCo...I love it. I still can't believe that they went under and that the company that took over charges SO much. These M47s used to go for WAY under a buck back in the day. Not to mention that RoCo COULD have made a LOT more of the WW2 era armored vehicles int the modern era (rather than all those dumb trucks).
Roco is still in business. Roco is a model train company that used to make military vehicles as train cargo for mostly Austrian and German trains. They did not care about the US market or about wargaming. Roco simply stopped production of the Minitanks like because they were not making enough money on them. I hope they come back into production or they sell them. I fear they may simply melt the molds down for scrap value! Bunkermeister
