It's 1904, New Years Day and the town is all but deserted.
It's not the new year everyone expected.
It's they year the Martians came!
The local US Army Signal Corps detachment has a new weapon and they hope to deploy it in time to stop the Martians.
A Flyer, built by the Wright Brothers armed with one bomb, they hope to get it airborne in time to hit one of the infernal machines.
