Moving in this jungle swamp was a tremendous achievement.

Visibility in the daytime was limited to only a few yards. A man could get lost and wander off without ever finding his way back in this trackless wilderness.
The gas mask wearing men managed to pull the Doctor and the others to safety. Once in the clear air the men revived quickly.
While there was no evidence of the comet, the men all made it out alive. In this trackless wilderness, sometimes that's victory enough. The men and those who saved them pose for a photo in knee deep water.
