Rocket craft must have rockets to propel them and so they Army has men working around the clock to develop and test ever more powerful engines. Here a team has a test rocket on a tram in the field. They will practice the preparations for launch, but not actually launch the rocket. Once they can prepare the rocket perfectly every time, then they will finally fire the test rocket into the air and perhaps beyond! The space race is on with the United States striving to beat the Reds into the ether.
Five men from the Gold Squad line up for a photo in their new uniforms. Using space age materials like asbestos and plastic, these uniforms will their greatest defense against the life sapping rays of the Van Allen Belt and other outer space dangers.
The radio link to the rocket craft is a vital piece of equipment for these Army Moon Men.
Here a member of Blue Squad compares his carbine with the electronic ray gun of the Gold Squad. Weapons will be needed in space, wherever men have gone there is inevitably been conflict. The United States desires only the peaceful conquest of Outer Space but must be prepared to defend it's citizens wherever they may go.
