The Pacific Electric Company operated the Red Cars in Greater Los Angeles in the 1930's to the 1940's.

They appeared in the movie Roger Rabbit.

These street cars were very popular and quite colorful.

The cars were electric and so they were very quiet.

I have two of them in my collection, essential for WWII Los Angeles.

In Philly, we had the green & cream PTC cars (both the PCC as well as the St. Louis Car Company models)
I always wanted to get one of those to go with my GG-1 (in dark green with the PRR cat whiskers, of course).
Check Walthers, they just released a bunch of new street cars.
