Searchlights are used to illuminate
aircraft at night. When used with a
sound detector, the chance to hit with the searchlight is increased by
10%. The light will attempt to locate
the target at the beginning of each phase.
Once it locates a target, it is illuminated for the remaining of the
turn. If the target is not illuminated,
then the guns can fire with a 10% chance to hit any target at any altitude that
their guns can reach.
Gun
combat using radar fire control may be conducted at night or in clouds. Early radar allows night or poor visibility
combat to take place normally out to 1250m.
Improved radar allows combat to take place out to 1250m and gets the
radar to hit bonus. Modern radar allow
combat out to the end of the range of the missile.
