That would be 'Subbuteo'. It's from the full Latin name of the bird known in English as a hobby.
When I first saw the picture I thought 'Subbuteo' I didn't realise they did cricket players too. Great way to use figures.
I can't believe Subbuteo never made it to the US.
Back in the 70s practically every boy in Britain had a Subbuteo set.
I customised my teams with Humbrol paint and actually made the models look like the real footballers they represented.
Yes, Subbuteo. Thanks all for the correction. Actually, Subbuteo apparently did make it to the US but I never saw it. There is a website from some group in Texas that still plays.
