New Submarine Construction

A new submarine is slipping down the ways.

At the turn of the 19th Century the submarines were much more ornate than they are now.

And many are owned by civilians or civil organizations dedicated to exploration of new waters and technologies.

The ornate scorlly bits adorn this ship add class and dignity to an otherwise hull shape, mandated by the need for streamlining the undersea propulsion of the ship.

Launching only begins the end of construction. There will be gold leaf and other ornate additions to the craft.
