Flak Suppression Runs

Flak Suppression Runs

Aircraft may make flak suppression runs against anti-aircraft artillery weapons or their fire direction equipment.  These attacks must be designated in advance of their occurrence.  Aircraft making flak suppression runs will take fire from the ground, and then if the aircraft survives, the aircraft will make the ground attack and any damage inflicted will take effect immediately.

AIRCRAFT ATTACK SEQUENCE
1) Air to air combat
2) Anti-aircraft artillery fire
3) Flak suppression runs
4) Other ground attacks

AIRCREW HITS
1 Pilot                                       1 Pilot
2 Co-Pilot                                 2 Co-Pilot
3 Bombardier                            3 Passenger
4 Navigator                               4 Passenger
5 Gunner                                  5 Passenger
6 Gunner                                  6 Passenger

Aircrew hits kill the aircrew men listed on the Aircrew chart.  If there is no crewmember of that type on board or if he has already been hit, then go to the next highest in line.  If your result in a Bombardier and the Bombardier is already dead, then the hit got the Co-Pilot.  Any result of less than 1 is a one or a two if the Pilot is already hit.

Alternatively, you can roll the D^6 again and determine the nature of the hit on the Aircrew if you wan to go to that level of detail.  Aircrew who are walking wounded can continue the mission but a second walking wounded hit will make them a litter case.  Litter Case hits are too severe to continue the mission and are no longer able to perform their job function
