8 Inch Artillery Battery

US Army 8 inch artillery.

A full battery of four guns, with limbers and tractors and crews.

The guns were in service from WWI until a few years afterwards.

Then they were placed in war reserve.

Kept there until World War Two and sent to several nations to defend against the Germans.

And the Russians.  Yes, the US sent weapons to Finland in early WWII to defend against Russian attack.

Crews are a mix of Strelets and Hat.

Hat crewmen are from the French 75mm gun set.

Justice League

Visited Dollar Tree recently and found a few super heroes.

They are made by Mattel and are sold as cake toppers on line.

Aquaman is typical.  Reasonable paint job, one piece figure mounted on a separate base, but not removable.

The Flash.  Figures are in the older classic look rather than their more recent big screen versions.

Wonder Woman, I got two of them and may try a Batgirl conversion.

Superman in a rather metallic blue color, looks a bit odd to me.

It seems they only make these five figures, I might try and do a Robin using the Flash figure and Superman's cape and head.  The cape is a separate piece and head swaps should be easy on a PVC figure. I may use the remaining Superman bits to create a Captain America using the Flash head and Superman body without cape.  Gotta find a shield for him.

Batman seems to have some residue on his uniform, might have to repaint him or get another one.  At $1 each they are a pretty good value.

BMC with Super Heroes

A size comparison between the 60mm Tim Mee figure and the Lido figure as recast by BMC.

Similar poses but the BMC are a tad taller, but a bit thinner.

 These BMC guys fit in well with the new Super Hereos.

Since I use the 60mm Tim Mee figures and the slightly larger BMC figures together, I will have no problem mixing the Super Heroes together with either set.

This applies also to the 60mm Marx and the 60mm MPC, not pictured.

 In the WWII era comics Superman did fight the Axis powers as did Wonder Woman and Batman.

 Batman also landed at Normany in some of the recent cartoon versions of the character.

 The whole line up.

 Very good figures, I think.

As far as I can tell there are no more figures in this series.

 Still a good line up, and with some conversion work I may be able to get a few more.

Together with the BMC figures for size.

Super Hero Line Up

A little size comparison with the troops.

These figures are the Mattel Justice League cake toppers from Dollar Tree.

And the soldiers are the classic Tim Mee 60mm soldiers.

Figures are close to the same size with the Tim Mee being generally more bulking but a tad shorter.

Part of the height difference is due to the thick base on the Super Heroes.  But then Super Heroes are larger than life.
