Big Heads

Twilight Creations makes this game about statues on Easter Island and shooting rays out of their eyes. It was on sale and came with plastic statues that were about the right size for Classic Wargames so I got a box. After opening it I inspected the contents and tossed everything but the Moai statues.

There were seven dark gray and seven light gray statues, all just alike. They were one piece plastic figures. Some of the ones on the island were full bodies like this one and others were just big heads.

Here is a look at two dark ones and one light one, pretty nice detail all the way around.

I picked up a few others from Amazon that are the Desktop Heads of Easter Island, in a resin stone type material. Four different versions of them, they mix nicely with the plastic ones I think.

A couple adventurers lurking on an unknown island of statues...

Luftwaffe Ground

When there were not enough planes, aircrew sometimes ended up as infantry. I had several WWII German aircrew from an HE-111 and made them into infantry.

This guy has used a parachute pack as a back pack and I have added various Preiser and Esci bits to make this guy an infantryman. I added a water bottle, ammo pouch, gas mask canister, mess tin, rifle and e-tool.

This prone machine gunner has a machine gun from a Nitto 250 halftrack, I added a bipod and took the saddle magazines from the aircraft model.

These guys were machine gunners from the same HE-111 kit. I also added e-tools to these guys, I had four of them. I also mounted them on styrene bases.

By utilizing these "waste" figures from the "junk & spares" box I added six new infantrymen to my Luftwaffe Field Division that are unique and free. Since German squads generally had one or two machine guns per squad this gives me enough machine guns for a platoon and two men to use as squad leaders or even the platoon leader.

Mortarmen

This is the standard hard plastic 1/72nd scale Esci mortar crew figure from their Afrika Korps set on the left and the two handed mortar bombs variation on the right.

Note the arm down variation on the man on the right.

This is the ammo box on the base variation.

This one is the sub machine gun rather than mortar bomb version.

One simple figure with several different versions, quick simple easy conversions for more variety in the figure collection.

MPC

This is the last pose, a prone firing man.

They make a good sniper.

Mortar, recoilless rifle, and strecher were some of the other accys.

Only three poses here and yet no two figures are the same.
