Provincial Security Forces

The Provincial security forces have only bought twelve men.

The people are unhappy about that response.

The security forces are tied up with Communist incursions up north.

More men will come soon.

In the meantime we will help you to secure the village.

12 men with guns is better than 24 men with spears, but 100 men with guns would have been much better.
 

Traps Ready

Men from the two local tribes have been reinforced by the Provincial security forces in gray.

The tribe also set up various traps to try and catch whatever is making people disappear.

It's hard to know what to use since they don't know what is causing the disappearances.

Maybe it's too big to fit in the trap.

Still the men watch and wait for something to happen.

The radios of the Provincial security forces are helpful too, so you know what's happening on the other side of the village.
 

Three Villages and Security Forces

Now with the men from three villages  present and the Provincial security forces the village should be secure.

Or at least there should be enough men present to at least see what is happening the next time someone disappears.

Some think it's an animal.

Others think it's the communist rebels.

Still others don't know what to think, but it certainly is frightening.

Everyone is on edge.
 

The Perimeter

The men are keeping watch around the perimeter.

Since they don't know what is causing the disappearances, it's hard to know what to look for.

Provincial security forces have arrived and they are very welcome.

The handful of European hunters and a few of the natives have firearms.

But all the Provincial forces have them and so they are a welcome addition.

They will greatly strengthen the perimeter.
 

Security Forces Arrive

Members of the local security force arrive.

Two large trucks and three Jeeps.

The Provincial government send them.

It is a welcome relief to see them.

The tribes know they are not forgotten.

They keep watch around the perimeter as the Security Forces arrive.
 

Communist Rebels?

This is a border province. and it could be Communist backed rebels may be coming over the border to kidnap people to create terror.  If they could force the tribes along the border to move to the city, the rebels could take over this region.

Who are these gray trucks?

Two big cargo trucks and three Jeeps?

They are coming to the villiage.

The people come out to great them.

 They are part of the provincial security force!

New Arrivals

The consensus seems to be that one leopard might have taken a couple people but not 17 in five days.

It looks like more help is on the way as a safari arrives.

The chief had sent word to other local villages that his people were disappearing under mysterious circumstances.

Other tribes reported similar problems but on a smaller scale.

So another group has broken down their village, sent their women and children to the city and come here to create a temporary camp and try to discover what is happening.

The Chief commands only about 30 warriors and the new group as brought in just over 100 more.  Coupled with about 24 European hunters they are becoming a formidable band.
 

The Mystery Continues

The new village was abuzz about what to do about the disappearances.

The Shaman and Chief consulted the hunters.

No one seems to know how people were disappearing without a trace.

One person when to the river and they would be gone.

A group of twenty warriors went to the river for water and they would find nothing.

Some of the natives got a very large leopard, maybe this was the culprit?
 

Trouble in the Border Province

Two villages were moved into the open plains.

All of the women, children, and old people were sent away to the city.

People disappeared if they went far from the old village to get water or to forage for food.

The Elders sent for help to the settlement and the city.

The European hunters and explorers were concerned too and sent their families away also.

It was thought to be safer here in the open away from the forest, but no one really knew.

Even the heavy cooking pots and all the other supplies were moved.
