Since at least the Viet Nam War the US Army has been buying off road motorcycles and assigning them the role of motorized scouts. This always seems like a good idea at the time but the programs never seem to last very long. I suspect soldiers are having too much fun, and we can't have that. Recently, while shopping at Target I found a set of three motorcycles with riders that were just about 1/72nd scale. They are wearing protective clothing and helmets and painted and decaled as racing motorcycles. A quick paint job and they are now soldiers. I suspect that a quick head swap may make them look better, expecially for the Army of 20 or 30 years ago. You may also want to add a couple storage boxes from the spares box or perhaps even add a rifle or pistol to the rider. The best thing about the set is the price, only $2 for three figures with motorcycles. Not too bad.
