A Special Announcement

I am on a Facebook group called "Military Toys from our childhood."  The Admin, Brian Kelley posted this today:

"MAY MTFOC member of the month is....Mike Creek (Bunkermeister).
In addition to being a long time member and contributor, Mike also has his own site that is a fun focus on Army Men. If I had to choose a particular attribute of Mike, I would say it is his ability to show Green Army Men combating Aliens and Mutated insects. He does a fantastic job of staging his soldiers as they battle each other, out maneuvering the enemy, as well as keeping us safe from B movie monsters.

Aztecs

I like to be able to use my Army Men in as many different ways as possible.  Here are the Aztec figures made by Revell.

This model, by Safari, is the Quetzalcoatlus Pterosaur, they were alive during the time of the dinosaurs, 65 million years ago.

Perhaps we can use the Aztecs to fight ancient animals such as the Quetzalcoatlus?

It's much harder to fight giant monsters with pointy sticks and stone weapons than with rifles and hand grenades.

That gives another use for the Aztecs.  Perhaps even use them as a lost tribe with lost animals in a 19th or 20th Century venue.

Quetzalcoatl

Science used to tell us that dinosaurs and related reptiles had a smooth leathers skin.  The science was settled.

Then science told us that some dinosaurs and similar reptiles had feathers.  Once again the science was settled.

Anthropologists told us the Aztecs told us that they were in contact with Quetzalcoatl, a flying feathered serpent.

 Paleontologist tell us that men and dinosaurs never lived together.  The science was settled.

  Quetzalcoatlus, the feathered serpent flying reptile did exist say Paleontologists.  But how did the Aztecs know this if they did not see them?

Soap Scum

 

 A few years ago at the Westcoaster toy soldier show I made a big Tim Mee score.

I always wash my soldiers once they get home and since I got so many, I decided to wash all my 60mm troops.  It took a couple days, and I used Oxyclean, and some of them even got bleached.

One batch of troops had a soap residue left behind on them.  It looks like they have been dry brushed.

So I plunged all the old time Tim Mee troops back into clear warm water for an overnight soak, hoping the soap residue would dissolve.

  

I as had to take a brush to them to get all the soap off.  So far the project is on going.
