Heiser Models HO scale, M24 Chaffee US Army light tank.
I made each platoon a little different, in this case the star is small and under the turret curve.
This one has rusty tracks. Post war they developed a rubber track for the Chaffee.
Big white star on the turret.
This one has the star with the circle around it and the US Army and serial number on the center side of the sand skirts.
Center tank has the white star on the front lower glacis, the other four have the star on the top glacis.

Great looking models ! The M24 was used initially in the Korean War. They didn't do well going toe-to-toe with North Korean T34/85s. And the French used them during their war in Indochina. There were 10 a Dien Bien Phu. But you probably already know all that !
They were also used by US and British armored cavalry reconnaissance units from just before the Battle of the Bulge through the end of the war.
They were not used by the British at all!
The Heiser M24 is a nice model. The originals came into use in 1945 in Europe, although there were a few issued right before the Ardennes campaign (Dec44). They were a huge improvement on the old M5A1s. Cavalry units were supposed to get them first, but they show up in some armored divisions in the drive into Germany. These were a favorite with Hollywood and show up as US, German or British tanks in multiple movies. The M24 wasa recon vehicle andnot really meant to fight medium tanks. The M24s sent to Korea in 1950 were in Japanmostly for occupation duty and were there because it was feared that the M4A3 and M26 tanks would damage Japanese infrstructure.
Yes, Mr. 4 the M24 was really a recon vehicle, more like a replacement for an armored car than a tank.
Yes, they were introduced just before the Battle of the Bulge, due to the torsion bar suspension they were concerned Americans would think they were German. Thanks for the comment ColCampbell.
Simon, Mr. Hunnicutt says in his book Stuart, A History of the American Light, Volume I That that the UK got 289 M24 tanks prior to September, 1945, page 464.
Thanks for reading everyone.

Good information Gary. Yes, the JGDSF used the M24 because of it's small size and light weight it was okay for Japanese roads and bridges.
Godzilla also appeared with many M24 tanks in his movies.

I remember seeing JGDSF with M24s ... And yes, Gozilla did stomp a lot of M24s and IIRC M41s.
