Robot Closes to Attack
The dark was the monster Robot charging his weapons.
The weapons fired and men fell.
Vehicles were destroyed.
These National Guard troops were said to be undertrained, and underequipped, but they were
certainly brave. This is one of the last things many of them saw!

Robot Arm Raised
The monster Robot raised his arm.
Then things went dark as an explosion was heard.
The National Guard troops opened fire!
The blazed away with their outdated submachine guns and old worn rifles.

The Enemy Comes
The National Guard was deployed.
Some said they were under- trained.
Some said they would melt away at the first shot fired.
Some said they could not stand.
None of them knew what would happen.
The men deployed.
And they waited for the enemy to come to them.

National Guard Troops
They said the National Guard had obsolete weapons.
Rifles and submachine guns from World War Two.
Some weapons so old that they rattled when you shook them.
Weapons like that could not put up much of a fight.
No heavy weapons either, except a few recoilless rifles mounted on weasels.
Can't do much with that kind of equipment.

Type 96 in Action
The Type 96 AA/At gun and crew from Strelets in soft plastic, 1/72nd scale. No glue needed.
Crew in action in a lightly forested area.
It makes a nice little set up.
Fighting in the city, with Samurai Robot Squad in support.
Shooting through the burning streets.
Allied bombings followed up by ground attack.
The 20mm gun is of little use against the M26 Pershing of the Allies.
