GI Joe Action Camouflage Base

First thing to do is us primer paint on the base.  Covering white paint is hard and so a dark, flat primer is good.

I used a light olive green for the upper piece, it matches the uniforms my soldiers usually wear, even this more khaki uniform looks okay with it.

The main part of the base is a very dark brown, it matches the boots very well.  It also works well as a dirt color.

The vertical part of the base got a spray of the olive drab, a dark drab.

It also got a little over spray onto the base so it does not look so uniform.

Looks pretty good even close up.  I am very happy withe the results.  The paints are mostly Rust-Oleum Camouflage from Wal-Mat at about $4 per can.

 Sometimes it can be hard to get GI Joe to stand up.
 

Many of mine are old and the elastic is not good which does not help.

But most doll stands are white and look terrible in photos.

So I camouflage painted mine so they are now officially Action Figure stands.

Truth, Justice, and the American Way

Marx made a skyscraper set decades ago, and this is one of the many accessories that came with it.

For those of you under 40 years old who don't know what this is, it's a telephone booth.  A pay telephone that people used prior to the invention of cellular phones.

Superman used to use the telephone booth as a way to have some privacy while he changed into his supersuit.

The rumor was that Marx intended to make a Superman set but it was never released, but the Superman figure did get released years later, 60mm size.

Full Scale Robot Attack

The city is aflame when robots attack and only horse cavalry is there to defend!

This new Hot Wheels car is a reclining robot.

An interesting idea.

His body is the car body.

Very much like the Transformers, or even some of the Terminators.

So I added some of the robots from the Wicked Duals sets and  created a full scale robot attack!
