Light Tank

I asked what tank the MPC plastic model tank was based on and Master Modeller Wayne Wanner came up with the answer.

The T92 was designed as a replacement for the M41 Walker Bulldog.  It used the same gun and had mirror image cupolas based on those used for the M48 tank.

It was much smaller than the M41 and was air transportable, however it was not amphibious.  Since the Soviet Union announced the PT76 was amphibious the US Army went back to the drawing board and got the M551 Sheridan instead.

MPC Tank

This tank is from MPC.  It's probably a fifty year old toy.  You can still get recast versions for around  a few bucks.  Original ones are not very expensive either.

I think this may have been based on a real vehicle.  I suspect it's from the late 1950's or early 1960's, US Army prototype.  It could have been in prototype form, or maybe just mock ups.  I am looking.

SWAT Armored Car

One thing I like about Matchbox is that they make the same vehicle over and over again.

This is two different versions of this SWAT van.

I like having two different versions because I can use them for different agencies responding to the same incident.

I can use them with special forces figures from Caesar, painted in different colors.

Police wear dark blue, light blue, tan, green, and camo along with other two tone outfits.  Lots of options.

Bat Buggy

At Target buying flat bed trucks I found this little gem.

It's a dune buggy in red and black, in a retro style.

I plan on putting a Batman decal on it.

It will be Batmans off road Batmobile!
