I have been sorting my collection and came across some interesting versions of the Roco M-38 Jeep. This one has an M-60 machine gun mounted in the back that came from a Roco M-151 set. This updates the M-38 to a Vietnam era vehicle. The wire cutter in the front is a bit of angle iron from Plastruct and the shovel at the side is from Roco.

The Roco Dodge Ambulance comes with stretchers, but if you have the rear doors closed, then you don't use them. I put a small bar across the back near the front seat backs and then glued these two stretchers on the rear of this Jeep. I have seen conversions like this for Willys Jeeps in World War Two and so this seemed reasonable.

This rather dusty example shows the Roco .30 caliber machine gun with a large ammo box mounted on the side. A little extra firepower.

This Jeeps shows more parts from the M-151 series. The two radios and the radio mounts make this a command Jeep or a forward air controller or perhaps a fire direction observer. The antennas are brush bristles.
The Roco M-38 is a rather tired old model with not much detail, and few accessories. I have used a few bits from the spares box to perk them up a bit. This Jeep was in service for decades and even long after they were replaced by M-151 and even Hummers I saw them hidden in the back of large motorpools, waiting their chance to serve.
