We Named the Dog Indiana

This truck is from the Titanium Series of die cast toys sold at Target stores and other retailers. It is just about HO scale and comes complete with an HO Indiana Jones being dragged behind it.

This is similar to the large Henschel truck made by Roco Minitanks in HO 1/87 scale plastic. The Indiana Jones truck is a bit smaller.

The Roco truck is a bit longer and about the same width as the Indiana Jones truck. The Indy truck comes painted and assembled, the canvas is removable and it has a wooden crate inside, presumably with the Arc of the Covenant inside.

I had to go to four Target stores but was able to get six of these trucks. My plan is to cut Indy free and use four of them for my Annenerbe unit and two for my Unit Rosenberg. They will probably be repainted into Panzer Gray. The Wehrmacht used many different trucks and other non-military organizations got what ever was left over. These are the same size as a Roco Opel Blitz and are nice vehicles.

Hi Mike,
I'd say the truck is very close to a "Uniform Diesel", a truck designed and built in the late 30 for the German Army. It was considered and excellent off road vehicle, but as other types vere available with comparible performance, but cheeper to produce, the truck fell out of favor.

Yes, it does look very much like that, I am not sure of the dimensions on this truck compared to the Uniform Diesel. This die cast truck is exactly the same length as a Roco Opel Blitz.
